"Ice Age", Vicke Lindstrand, Kosta. Signed: Kosta 72501 V. Lindstrand. Diameter 15.6 inches (39.6 cm), Height 3.0 inches (7.6 cm). Excellent condition. An important, rare example of hand-sculpted glass. The entire undersurface is wheel-carved with images from prehistoric rock carvings. The images are set within a battuto (hammered) surface giving the effect of chipped ice. The undersurface was also acid-washed to enhance the matte appearance.
