Stoneware "Budding" vase, Axel Salto, Royal Copenhagen, circa 1930-40's. Signed: Royal Copenhagen (stamp) SALTO (incised) 20708 "Three Waves" (painted). Height 7.5 inches (19 cm), Width 5.3 inches (13 cm). Semi-matte, solfatara glaze in mottled shades of green, tan and yellow. Strongly potted with a wonderful, thick glaze. A great, early example.
