Important stoneware bowl, "Farsta", Wilhelm Kage, Gustavsberg, 1956. Signed: Farsta (impressed four times on feet) "G with Studio Hand" Gustavsberg Kage (impressed) A (oval above). Diameter 7.1 inches (18 cm), Height 3.2 inches (8 cm). Excellent condition. Matte glaze in warm shades of brown, tan and cream. Inside of bowl exhibits a radiating pattern of dark brown bands against a lighter tan background. A pattern of dark brown, vertical bands against a lighter, tannish-cream background continues on the exterior. Both inside and outside of bowl also incised with cross hatching. A wonderful piece of heavy potting resting on four, unglazed feet. SOLD |
