Gunnar Cyren

Gunnar Cyren (1931-) trained at the Stockholm College of Art, Craft and Design; graduating in 1956 as a silversmith. He was hired by Orrefors as a designer of glass in 1959. Cyren remained at Orrefors until 1970, left for a position at Dansk and returned to Orrefors as an independent designer in 1976. He was awarded the Lunning Prize in 1966.

Gunnar Cyren has designed a wide variety of innovative creations in glass employing engraving, enamelling, cutting and Graal; also sculptures combining clear crystal with silver. Particularly notable was the "Pop Goblet" created in 1967.
