Eva Englund

Eva Englund (1937-1998) studied at the Stockholm National College of Art, Craft and Design, graduating in 1959. She then continued her studies in ceramics at Stockholm, Munich and Austria. Englund joined Pukeberg Glassworks as a designer in 1964, followed by Orrefors in 1974. In 1990 she left Orrefors to form her own studio, Muraya. Many of her later works were collaborations with Wilke Adolfsson.

Eva Englund designed some of the most astonishing art pieces ever seen in glass. Using the Graal technique invented many years earlier by Orrefors, she created wonderful, subtle paintings within the glass. The internal decorations can depict sensitive portraits, florals or landscapes in an array of soft pastels.
